Marine Science
Marine Biology and Ecology at Heriot-Watt University offers strong research-led teaching programmes at postgraduate level. The multi-disciplinary research interests of our students and staff include marine biodiversity, biotechnology, ecotoxicology, immunology, ecophysiology, marine pollution impact and control, fisheries and marine resources development and protection, as well as climate change and deep-sea ecology.
Our highly successful marine & environment MSc programme cluster, currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, reflects the active involvement of teaching staff in research and consultancy in the main employment areas for marine biology graduates.
